How to PlunderⅡ (Advance)

These are additional information about the rare hunting :)

●About the enemy of the suprise attack

Do you remember that it was made a surprise attack by NPC when you were a beginner?
What kind of ship was the enemy at that time? Probably it would be "Cog" or "Barca".
Then, if you receive surprise attack in the same sea area now?
Probably NPC of the"Battle Carvel" will attack you.

Why will these differences happen?

The reason is simple. It is because the kind of the enemy changes depending on the total level of the player.
Furthermore, it change by the place.
Of course the items which those enemies have are different.

This thing shows one fact.

The enemy of the surprise attack might have a nice rare item.
However, the enemy may not appear depending on your total level.

I will add information about such NPC.
Look at the tag of "Surprise Attack"

Well, let's take a look at the process I got the rare item from the enemy of surprise attack :)

I went to the Australian Perth Basin with my friend.

Her total level is around 30 (11/8/12) .
It is not usually possible to come to this sea area at such the level.
This is because there is not the permit.
However, the enemy making a surprise attack on the player with a total level less than approximately 35 exist in this sea area.

Probably this NPC is one of the hidden secrets which the developer prepared :)

On the other hand, my total level is too high.
The objective NPC will not appear when I was attacked.
Therefore I stop near her ship.
The stopping ship does not catch the surprise attack in this game.
She continued moving around my ship and waited for the surprise attack from the enemy.

Oops, she received surprise attack.
The flagship is her ship because she was attacked.
I went to protect her hastily  X)

I defeated these enemies and obtained "Maori feathers (normal drop)" and "Popondetta (rare drop)".
Maori feathers several kinds exist in this game.
However, plunder boost's is only this one.

In this way, you will understand that there are various rare items in this game when include the enemy of the surprise attack.
If you have interested this things, try to be made surprise attack from many NPCs.
You might get interesting discovery :)

●About the number of players and relations with the number of NPC

When you go on voyage, there will be that you watched the phenomenon that NPC appears in front, and goes out.
By this game, the number of NPC increases and decreases according to the number of players existing in the same sea area.

When you use this, e.g., you can do such a thing.

A case of the sea area where NPC appears when there are players more than two
  1. you go the sea area with a friend when there is nobody
  2. when there is not rare NPC, your friend enter port or logs out.
  3. NPC disappears.
  4. you confirm that NPC disappeared
  5. your friend go out the port or log in again.
  6. a new NPC appears again.

It is relatively easy to appear rare-NPC if you repeat this.

When you want to suppress the consumption of the cannon or want to attack rare-Nationality NPC fleet, this is useful.
Let's enjoy efficiently rare hunting :)

●The advice of "Persistent Pilfering"

add 09/24/12
There is the person calling what is written here "Guard Spam" in the public.
I think that a word to be called "Guard Spam" is more plain and is better :)

Do you have the experience that wasted long time to let rare-NPC appear?
Even if rare NPC appears, there is only a little number of times that you can plunder from the NPC.
Surely you will be sad if you cannot obtain the rare item.

That is where "Persistent Pilfering" come in! XD
It is way to increase the number of times to plunder from enemy.

The way of the efficient rare-hunting will change depending on the enemy and the situation.
However, "persistent pilfering" is the basically best way.

I wrote an article about this before.
It is a plundering method using "Seize Cargo" skill of the Aide.
I explain it in detail this time.

So,what is "Persistent Pilfering"?
Briefly, It means that you maintain the melee state as much as possible.
You have to prevent that reducing the sailor of the enemy.
And, you should let your Aide activate "Seize Cargo" as much as possible.

Then let's confirm the situation before fighting.

The first: Check your Aide

You set one Aide for "Ambush" in "Lookout",and another one set to "Lieutenant" for "Seize Cargo".
High property value is better.

The second: Adjustment of equipment and skill

This is the most important.
You change the setting of your equipment and skill depending on objective NPC.

The points are three.

・Your attack point are less than (or equal) the defence point of the enemy.
・Your defence point are higher than (or equal) the attack point of the enemy.
・The number of your sailors are less than (or equal) the number of enemies.

Let's adjust it to be like that.
The state that the decrease of sailor become less than 1 is the best.

In addition, NPC don't withdraw by doing it.
When the enemy fail in withdrawal, many sailors die.
It means that you are decreased your time of melee battle.
Therefore, you need to make the situation that NPC don't withdraw easily.

This is the ideal situation.

・Attack Power (numerical value of the sword)
   - "having weapon or not", "having sterncastle or not" "seal swordplay skill in the skillbook or not"; etc..

・Defence Power (numerical value of the shield)
   - "having armor or not", "loyalty of the sailor", etc ...

In addition to these, the combination of melee item and melee skill is effective, too.

"Tactics" increase your attack power and defence.
It is useful if the enemy used "Loud bomb "

"Gunfire" reduce attack power of the enemy.

"Guard" can weaken your attack.
I think that this is useful.

"White smoke bomb" decrease attack power of enemy.
this is very useful.too

"Heady wine barrel" decrease Vigour of enemy.
It is useful for the enemy using the strong skill many times.

The third: Preparations for ship
Except strong enemy, any large battle ship don't have problem for rare-hunting.
However,I recommend that you add "Drainage pump"
When your ship is inundation state, "Evasion" skill have invalid effect.
If you are attacked in this situation, you might be sunk easily
But if you have this skill, you can use it in the middle of the melee battle.

By the way, I have MFCV for the rare hunting.
"Special sterncastle"  can decrease attack power of the enemy's sterncastle.
"Commander post" prevents the confusion state.
This ship is very useful :)

The slowness such as the tortoise is its only fault・・・XP

The fourth: your skills
Basically, any skill to use for melee battle is required.

"Evasion" skill is required.
"Surgery" skill is required.
"Repair" skill is required.
"Rescue" skill is required.
"Aboardage" skill is useful

Are you with me so far ?
OK, Now let us watch "Persistent Pilfering" :)

V.S. strong NPC
rare Cebard Pirate (Dyeing Admiral's uniform)

Weapon:Katar
Armor:King Richard I's armor ...etc
Ship Parts:Iron plate, Dragon, ...etc
Ship:MFCV
Swordplay Skill:use

Cebard Pirate is one of the most powerful NPCs in this game.
I reduce the attack power of the enemy by Special Sterncastle, but still enemy have high attack power.
The canon is extremely strong, and the melee battle is very aggressive.
Therefore I capture one enemy.

Furthermore, I reduce vigour of the enemy by heady wine barrel because the enemy use Assault skills many times.

When the vigour of the enemy dried up, I repeat Guard skill.
The evasion skill is required to endure the canon attack from other enemies.
Some my attack point is high, but I don't have any problem because this enemy use white smoke bomb.

Yes,my Aide activated "Seize Cargo" skill.
Regretfully, she brought some mate tea :(
By the next turn, I used the "Bell of withdrawal" immediately.

Even if I do not withdraw ,my Aide can activate "Seize Cargo" skill once again.
However, the activation probability decrease to half.
And there is not the third activation.

Because it is such a reason, I withdraw quickly every time if my Aide  activate ”Seize Cargo”.
If withdrawal succeeds, I try melee battle again.

I repeat this earnestly... earnestly... and repeat "Seize Cargo".
If I reduce the sailor of the enemy too much,I leave the battlefield once, and fight again.
Then the sailor of the enemy recover, and you can use Ambush again if 10 minutes pass.

And,if you play with your friends,it is good way that you leave them to fight the battle.
Because you can go for supply, and the risks that rare NPC disappear will decrease.

V.S. weaken NPC
rare North Sea Armed Merchant Fleet (Spear training -secret)

Weapon:none
Armour:none
Ship parts:Iron plate ,Dragon ,etc...
Ship:Clipper
Swordplay skill:seal in the skillbook

Each other's melee power become equal if in such this state.
This will be easy to fight.

And, if you become advantageous with confusing state, push the "withdrawal" button.
You should not be use "Bell of withdrawal".

When each other choose "withdrawal", the withdrawal always succeed.
However, "the bell of the withdrawal" might fail.
Because the bell is different from normal withdrawal in the judging method.
A lot of sailors of the enemy will die when you fail.

On the other hand, let's repeat "withdrawal" likewise when you feel that there are too many your sailors.
If you fail withdrawal, you can reduce your sailor.
You can regulate your melee power by doing so it.

I make rare-hunting by such way.
I don't use "Persistent Pilfering" for rare NPC which is easy to appear.
However, I have experience that spent three hours to look for rare NPC.
I use "Persistent Pilfering" at such time.
This is because it does not want to wait for an appearance of rare NPC for another three hours XD

●How to gather "Pillage Order"

The Pillage Order is effective for not only the rare-hunting but also PvP.
I think Jakarta's Quest is the most efficient way for collect Pillage Order

You go to Jakarta and get quest called "eastern trade route"
This is a maritime quest.
It is contents that you kill 15 Matarames (Galleass)
This quest does not appear if you do not have more than 25000 maritime fame.
When you receive this quest, you can get Pillage Order with high probability whenever you overcome Mataram.
The attack of the enemy is extremely strong, but the range is short.
I think you can win enough if you use H-Perrier.

Because the enemy will turn to the bow and charge, you aim at the critical-hit from far away :D

And, when you killed 14 Matarames, you should abandon the quest.
You can get the same quest again by doing so it.
If you kill 15 Matarames and clear the quest, you can't get same quest until you clear other quest.

● About rare land enemy

In the land enemy, rare NPC exists.
Such an enemy might have useful rare item.

For example, the outskirts of Hobart, Australia are so.
Only "Darwent River Pirate Lv39" and "Ossa Bandit Lv40" usually appear in this area.
However, "Bounty Lv54" rarely appears when you defeat " Darwent River Pirate Lv39 ".
It is said that this NPC has rare recipe "Firearms enhancement ".

But there is only one way that you get rare items from the land enemy.
It is "Defeat an enemy on land battle".
Yes, you can't use Aide's skill or Pillage Order.

Therefore the acquisition from the land enemies is difficult :(
However, the land enemy may be different from sea enemy.
When you defeated the enemy on land battle, can plunder the number of times same as the number of party members.
